How To Play Wordle
Once players load up the official New York Times Games Wordle website, they’ll be presented with a screen in which they need to pick letters to figure out a mystery five-letter word. There are some words that Wordle players should probably choose first, but, at the end of the day, choose what looks promising.

Starting words in Wordle must be:
Five letters long A real word The Americanized spelling Not offensive or a proper noun
After choosing a good starting word, the colors of the tiles will change color, showing players how close (or far) they are from figuring out today’s Wordle solution.
If the letter tile turns green, then the letter is in the word, and it’s in the correct spot. If it changes to yellow, then the letter is in the wrong spot, but it is somewhere in the word. And if any letters turn gray, then that means it’s not in today’s word at all.
